The College Farm was formed as a result of the transformation of the College into a parastatal organization in 1991.
Beef cattle in ranches
A herd of 130 heads consist of two groups: Tuli cattle and Brahman cross. Cattle management is based on internally developed program which connect traditional management under ranching condition with the latest technologies. Example include cattle identification system which is based on microchip.
Tswana Goats and Sheep
These are indigenous breeds well adapted to local harsh environmental conditions. The mixed flock consists of 168 breeding goats and 43 ewes
To keep pace with growing interests in Ostrich meat production, BCA Farm is venturing into ostrich production through research and student enterprise projects.
The College maintains a piggery demonstration unit with large white, Landrace and Durock breeds. The unit is capable of rearing 150 growing pigs annually.
