General Information

The Department of Animal Science Production is made up of five units, Animal Clinic, Diagnostic Lab, Field Lab, Nutritional Lab and Student Enterprise Project

Field Laboratory

The field laboratory plays an important role in training students of Animal Agriculture since it equips them with field practical exposure in different disciplines.

For effective demonstration or hands-on practical work, an ideal number of students per session is 25 for both farms and commercial institutions.

For the location of farms, game farms and ranches involved in the field laboratory, see Figures 2 and 3, respectively. The various activities carried out on the field laboratory include castration, dehorning, disease diagnosis, deworming, vaccinations, treatments of animals, game viewing, collection of grass and trees specimens and field survey.
